How to Play Our Virtual Escape Rooms on Zoom (and Turn It into an Epic Team Challenge)

Looking for a fun way to run a virtual escape room with your staff or team, without complicated tech or awkward breakout chaos?

Good news: our escape rooms were made for screen-sharing platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams.

Here’s exactly how it works.

What You’ll Need

  • A Zoom meeting (or any screen-sharing platform)

  • Our escape room URL link

  • One device per team (or per player)

  • Optional: the printable notes sheet

That’s it. No accounts. No apps. No downloads.

Step 1: Set Up Teams

Before you start:

  • Decide how many teams you want.

  • Each team uses one device to play.

  • Share the escape room URL in the Zoom chat.

Now every team opens the same link — but each team is playing their own independent game.

Step 2: Explain the Goal

Tell your players:

“You’re racing to be the first team to solve all the puzzles and reach the final conclusion. The first team to get the correct final answer wins the escape.

This instantly turns your game into a friendly competition — without the pressure of a giant countdown clock.

Step 3: Screen-Share for Collaboration

Each team should:

  • Turn on screen share within their breakout room.

  • Have one person click and navigate.

  • Everyone else calls out clues, patterns, and ideas.

This keeps every voice involved and avoids the dreaded “one person plays while everyone else watches” problem.

Step 4: Let the Hunt Begin

As the game unfolds, teams will:

  • Click through interactive scenes

  • Decode hidden clues

  • Think outside the box with unconventional puzzles

And thanks to our built-in hint system, help will automatically appear every few minutes — so no team gets stuck forever.

Step 5: The Final Conclusion

When a team thinks they’ve cracked the escape:

  • They will use their answers and the notes page to solve the final puzzle. Once that is done, they will message you privately with the final code.

  • You verify it.

The first team with the correct conclusion wins — instant cheers, instant bragging rights. 🏆

Why This Works So Well

✔ Every team plays independently
✔ No shared links getting messed up
✔ No tech confusion
✔ No frustration spirals
✔ Maximum collaboration

It feels fast, competitive, and exciting — even though every group is solving the same escape.

Perfect For…

  • Corporate team-building

  • Family & friend game nights

  • Parties and Date Nights

So fire up Zoom, drop the link in chat, and watch your teams come alive.

Because when creativity meets competition, magic happens. ✨
